What a day here looks like

You might start the morning quoting a deck package for a contractor. By noon you could be unloading a truck in the rain, and later you'll help a homeowner figure out why their screen door won't close. Some days you'll run the forklift, cut glass, make keys, restock shelves, and sweep the floor, sometimes all within a few hours.

There's always work to be done in a lumberyard. When the counter is quiet, we're pulling product forward, rotating stock, cleaning, or getting ahead on tomorrow. We don't stand around waiting to be told what to do.

Who thrives here

• People who've built, fixed, or remodeled something. Maybe you're a tradesperson, a handyman, a serious DIYer, or retired from the trades and still like staying busy. Customers come to us for answers, and hands-on experience is what makes those answers trustworthy.

• People who like helping. Our favorite part of the job is when a customer walks out with the right materials the first time.

• People who own their work. If you say you'll call someone back, you call them back. If you start a task, you finish it, and you do it well.

• People who ask instead of guess. We'd rather you say "I don't know, let me find out" than give a customer a wrong answer.

• People who are good teammates. Here, helping a coworker load a trailer is just part of the job.

 

This probably isn't the job for you if…

• You want to stay behind a register all day. 

• You'd rather not lift. Building materials and bags of dog food are heavy, and you'll regularly handle loads up to 60 lbs.

• You're looking for a job where you can coast when it's slow.

• "That's not my job" is a phrase you use.

• You'd rather guess than ask, or hope a problem goes away instead of owning it.

• Showing up on time, every time, feels like a big ask. Our crew is small, and when one person is late, everyone feels it.

Roles we hire for

We're not hiring for a specific opening right now, but we're always looking for the right people. When a spot opens up, we start with the applications we already have.

​

Inside Sales (full-time): You'll lead customer projects from quote to delivery, including estimating, ordering, sourcing materials, and loading and delivering orders. Construction experience is strongly preferred, and a CDL is a plus.

​

Retail Associate (full-time): You'll keep the retail floor running, including customer service, checkout, receiving, and stocking, plus paint, keys, glass, and screens. You'll also help with deposits, ordering, and e-commerce.

​

Floor & Stocking (part-time): You'll help customers, keep shelves stocked and faced, and keep the store clean and organized. This is a good fit for someone who wants steady part-time hours and likes staying busy.
